The legendary Barcoo Poley has been in production for over half a century. It was designed by Jim Hill of Syd Hil & Ss, at one time the biggest saddle makers in the southern hemisphere and with an ongoing family history of over a century and a half.
The Barcoo patterns and designs have been bought by James Saddlery. The Barcoo pictured has been made to those exact design specifications. It features American cowhide, solid brass fittings. It comes standard with big D rigging and flank girth D. It can take any of the girth systems suitable for todays popular halfbreeds or a bates rig. The new anti back slap attachment can also be used on this saddle.
It can be made to fit any horse with the tree design allowing a fractional fit to any wither tracing. Please note we do not make saddles that fit terms such as narrow, wide or extra wide. These terms do not guarantee that saddles will fit your horse at all. The only way to guarantee an exact fit is to have the saddle custom made to your horse. (see how to make a wither tracing).
The Barcoo is available in Honey or Dark Havana and can be custom made with your own choice of tooling. Available in 15", 16", 17" and 18"
